Welcome to my blog! I document my journey to sustainability through being as vegan and zero waste as possible as a student. Hope you have a nice stay!

Long Live The Lunchbox!

Long Live The Lunchbox!

For those of you who don’t know, I’m a member of Global Action Plan’s Youth Panel. Global Action Plan is a charity who are making the connections between what is good for us and what is good for the planet.

Our current Youth Panel campaign, #LongLiveTheLunchbox, is trying to reduce waste created by disposable takeaway packaging. The way the campaign works is by taking your own lunchbox into a restaurant or cafe where they will put your food in your container for you to take away. This is a great way to enjoy your lunch on the go with none of the single-use waste usually created by these products. The best thing about this campaign is how easy it is to take part, the only thing you need to remember in the morning is to bring a reusable container or lunchbox with you and you’re all set.

This campaign is changing the way consumers think about their lunch and showing how easy it is to help the planet just by bringing your own lunchbox when getting food. To take part in the campaign, follow Global Action Plan on Instagram and look at our ever-growing map which shows all of the restaurants and cafes taking part in the campaign - look out for the pink sticker outside shop windows!

I hope this campaign inspires you to think about your eating habits and inspires you to bring your lunchbox with you for restaurants and cafes to put food in.
